Boy did we have some fun today..
We had two bikes on the go today, with baldy’s stunter getting some finishing touches before going for rego.
And we got real deep into the rewire of the busa. I started with good intentions to just get the ecu going with minimal damage to the harness but what fun is that.
Managed to get 90% of the wires removed from the harness that are not needed, you know like indicators, brake lights, kill switch oh wait scratch that i screwed up and snipped that out before realising and then had to wire it back in.
Basically we are now left with a base harness that contains the charging system, ignition switch, fuse box and a hand full of wires that I’m yet to figure out what they do
BTW, a mass produced wiring harness is a product of the devil, the amount of dodgy connection, wires that pretty much loop around and do nothing amazes me, mind you i say this now.. I’ll revisit when we actually try and work out the electrical gremlins…
Thought i’d snap a pic of the harness as it stands right now, and then one mid week once we have the vitals wired up.
Keep in mind, we have only just started to wire up the main ECU, The MSD MC-4 is due to arrive tomorrow or Tuesday but the wiring harness on that one doesn’t look too difficult. Then we have the boost controller, the data logger… and whatever else i can find. Anyway, typing that out has reminded me to see where they mount the second battery on the busa..
