Well, what a week. Firstly a huge thanks to Simon at Motorcycle panel and paint for churning out another brilliant Paint Job. Motorcycle panel and paint and hae come onboard as a sponsor and i must say he was a pleasure to work with. We had a tiger mica paint colour picked out as a base, simon then lightened the paint up, layed a gold candy and followed it up with a Flow coat of clear. He then took rubed tha panels back and layed over a nice Black with gold metallic and another Flow Coat of clear.

The quality of the finish is amazing, Here is a sneak peak of the fairings mocked up on the bike.

Spring is here and that means that it’s time to get back into working on the bike. The last two weeks we have rubbed down the plastics and reprimed, Motorcycle Panel & Paint have come onboard as a sponsor offering to paint the street fairings with a schmick paint job, that alone is a huge load off us and we know that the paint will be good.

While we don’t have any panels we are plannign to strip the bike back down again and go over everything just to make sure it’s all looking good and too catch up on some things that we may have forgotten, the frame will get a coat of matt paint as we had originally planned until we were waiting for the gloss to dull on the paint as it dried. It never dulled.. Just because they mix up satin black doesn’t mean they did it right.

You may be wondering why we are spending some time focusing on the looks of the bike, In 4 weeks time we have the Northam Bike show and PerthStreetBikes have a display and naturally the goal is to have the bike on display. I will make sure we get some photo’s up.

Anyway, just thought i’d pop a quick update in as i won’t have time to over the next week as i’m off to South Australia for quck work trip.

Take Care and have fun.

Hey guys,

Unfortunatly not much of an update, the wife has decided that seeing as i have spent the equivilant of a house deposit that she wanted to do some spending too. So the backyard and house are currently being renovated.

Also I’ve landed a promotion and a fair bit of extra work with my 9-5 which now see’s me in adelaide on a regular basis. However work is about to commence again with the bike heading over to mr potato for a couple of coats of paint.

Aim is to have the bike rideable for the MAD ride.

The break will also let me save some more cash that is required for the final stretch of the build.

Billet Sump has arrived.

Thanks to Greg over at Boost By Smith who unselfishly has helped consolidate some of my orders from the US my RPM 2″ billet sump has arrived. The sump allows about 2″ more ground clearance over the factory unit which is a must for any lowered hayabusa.

It’s now off to get the exhaust done.

Ok, another shipment arrived. This contained the internal spacers to lift the front up.
Still no dice on fairing ground clearance. So i have a straight edge, a dremel and a set of fairings.. wish me luck

30mins later….

Well no broken windows this time.. Success, just have to tidy the cut up, but first cut was pretty good and true to what i wanted.

Shock,Swingarms and Triple Clamps

Since the last one, we have painted the swingarm, the new shock arrived (Penske specced to suit the bike), The triple clamp and woodcraft clipons, the Boost Controller.

An order has just been placed for and Muzzys Billet Clutch Basket, 2 Inch Billet Sump for more ground clearance, two more guages (Nitrous Pressure and Oil Pressure), a oil catch can, low profile billet breather, braided clutch line and some spacers to lift the front end up. When i lowered it i was not planning on going for a new triple clamp which requires the forks to be slid up 2 inches.

We are currently in the middle of prepping the body work which involes cutting the fairings for the exhaust, filter and possibly more ground clearance.

Here’s some random snaps.
